Mirror, Mirror

The idea of a series princess shoes was suggested by a client (I already had ruby slippers and Cinderella) I decided to make them look a bit like old illustrations. Here is Snow White, I'm working on Sleeping Beauty now. Its funny how much I love to come up with fairy tale shoes when you are much more likely to catch me wearing sneakers!

I love the idea of fairy tale shoes! This one, like your others, is perfect! I can absolutely imagine Snow White in these.

Oh, it's so cute. Suddenly reminded of my love affair with classic fairy tales as a kid!

Ah! I love this idea! And, Snow White was always my favourite. I think I became obsessed with painting and doing all kinds of fairy tale art because my favourite Snow White book(illustrated by Trina Schart Hymen) never showed Snow White and the Prince getting married. I so wanted to see what her dress would look like! I have spent my life making dolls, doing paintings, monotypes and photographs of what it could have looked like-what her shows and hair could have looked like. For my dolls, I include all the details-even lacy bloomers! Maybe the dress was left out on purpose to give me some purpose-he he! Anyway, I love the shoe idea and your fabulous shadowbox piece below this too!
take care,
merle

I love this idea! (and what a great way to execute it.) Hmmm... feeling a little jealous of it now. :-) Looking forward to seeing more!

I'm glad you guys like it :)

Rose, hee I never got over the love affair ;)

Merle, what a lovely inspiration for your art. Snow is one of my favorites too. She appeals to the sweet and dark tale lover in me. I love that the mystery of her gown captivated you and yes it probably was fate!

tlc you are so sweet :) I think you should do a fairy shoe too! I'd love to see yours! I still think its funny that I love them you should see my comfy reef flip flops I'm wearing. *sigh*
